Phang Nga Bay is a 400 km² bay in the Andaman Sea between the island of Phuket and the mainland of southern Thailand. Since April 29, 1981 a big part of the bay is protected as the Ao Phang Nga National Park. This national marine park is dotted with dozens of islands, limestone cliffs and caves. It is situated in Phang Nga Province.

James Bond Island, known originally and locally as Ko Tapu or Nail Island, found famous through the Bond film "The Man with the Golden Gun" in 1974. The film starred Roger Moore and Christopher Lee , it was the scenic photography that helped make the film into a firm Bond favorites.
